My sister invited me to hit a mall last night @ midnight. {i politely declined} There was a traffic jam on the freeway a few miles away from my house due to the crazy people who felt the need to shop at the outlet stores nearby @ 11 pm. The stack of ads my daughter showed me yesterday was quite impressive. And yet, there is nothing out there that will even make me consider hitting a store today. {plus I just plain hate shopping, but you knew that already. tee hee} How about you.
QOTD:
Are you a Black Friday shopper?

No way! if they were giving away a Ferari for a nickle I wouldn't put up with the crowds.
I don't like combat shopping (or fishing)
The gal being interviewed on tv just now said she saved 20% at the disney store. 10% of $50 is roughly the price of a Starbucks mocha in AK. I would give the mocha rather than face the crowds.

WEll, I live in Canada so no Black Friday here... but the equivalent would have to be Boxing Day sales... and NO! I LOVE to shop but I hate rude, greedy, grabbing people who stampede into a mall just to bargain hunt. I love a great bargain but NOT like that!
I wait til Dec 28th and have a nice shopping day instead.
The ads come into my house and they end up right in the recycle box. I don't even look at them!
I think we should create a spectator sport out of this. Let's set up some bleechers charge admission include a Starbucks latte in the price and laugh hysterically at these folks. All monies raised would go to charities that support child poverty for those parents who can't even afford the sales at the malls.
and that's mho!

Holiday Sales = Death
seriously... is this worth it? beyond spectator sports...

In my youth when I had some money, I would have XMas shopping done in August. Over the last few years, I've found it easier to buy stuff piecemeal over the year through Amazon. Even more so this year, as I am buying for people 1000 miles away, I had AMazon ship there and pre gift wrap most of it. It just made sense. Plus, back home in Westchester County, NY, there are a LOT of people and stores are packed on a quiet day - it's a frickin' madhouse - much less stress for me in the quiet state of Iowa. For example, it took me 2 hours of sitting on line in NY to get my frickin' iPhone... In Iowa, just go to the store and get one - it's so easy (sigh of relief).
So I guess the answer to your question is. no except for my grocery shopping which was nice and quiet today in the store - and yes, the DO have sake in Iowa, so I guess I can stay :-)
I like shopping but at midnight or 4am, forgeddaboutit.
And why were you polite. You should have said "no arfing way, you are nuts."
HOLY CRAP!
Black Friday shopping is not good.
