Fortune.

Chinese dinner. mmmm.
Fortune cookies. fun!
Interestingly enough both fortunes are about shopping and money. Apparently I will get a great deal on my next big purchase, in bed.

QOTD:
What phrase, if any, do you say after your fortune?

ty for the bday wishes :-) Sorry so long to get back to you - was out at the Nine Inch Nails concert last night... If they come your way, see them - the light show alone was worth it!

And my fortune program I implemented on the VAX/VMS account at school had a "/i" option which put "in bed" at the end... "/w" added an extra message on Wednesdays ("Wednesday is hump day!"). That was 20 years ago and I am senile having just had my second 21st birthday, so I don't remember all the other switches. But I did have code in Fortran77 VM Assembler, C and Pascal and that VMS scripty thing - OH DCL! for it!

I generally say, "this isn't a fortune, it's a saying." I mean, "plan for many pleasures ahead." Does this friggen cookie think I am a pessimist!!!

there's a radio show on Sunday afternoons with a guy named Jonathon Goldstein. He talks to random people and has bizarre conversations.

Last Sunday he was going on about the fortunes in fortune cookies and said exactly what Creature said. So Jonathon had a phone conversation with a guy who works for the conglomerate that produces fortune cookies. He's now the CFO but he started as the fortune cookie writer.
In Canada - or at least you go to some places and the fortunes are written in English and French. I have one of those taped to my computer.
and no.. I've never tacked on a phrase to the end of fortune cookies.. but I LIKE the idea. I can see how it would work!
