Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.

Amen.

There are no words. I remember when he dragged me into a chat room to hang out - in effect, that is how he gave me you as a friend. ;-) Thanks, lakerbabe ;-)

That is so very true. I had forgotten lakerbabe. I have had way too many alias's but that is a whole other story, isn't it? He did drag you into the chatroom and friendships were born. I know you and his family will miss him so very much. I can only ask that The Lord hold you all close as you grieve your loss.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dear Friend. I saw the FB comments but didn't want to intrude too much there.
Cherish your memories of him and help his family.

There is a lovely Ukrainian funeral hymn we sing at funerals. It always makes me cry makes me cry. I should try and find an MP3 version of out. It's in a minor key, and it is the last song that is sung during the funeral liturgy and at the graveyard as the final prayer.

Perhaps your love of music would help you. The words translatse to something like holding your loved one eternally in your memory. We shall never forget him as he has gone to his sleep.

Thanks, b - wake is Thurs and funeral Fri. sigh. Thanks for helping me remember him and honor him. ;-)

Thanks, t - I'll look the hymn up - I know enough Russian that I could possibly get the gist of the Ukrainian. It would have been no intrusion on FB and thanks for your your kind thoughts. :-) Also, musically, I will play Pink Floyd and 80's pop music for some time now - they were his favorites (we saw Pink Floyd at Shea Stadium in NYC in 1994 - us and our wives and my son in utero - good days gone by) ;-)
